Blessed Miguel Pro S.J. - Nov 23

Today, we celebrate a Jesuit priest who died with the acclamation of Christ as King on his lips. Fr. Miguel Pro, SJ, was an underground priest in Mexico, bringing the sacraments to Catholics when it was illegal to be a priest or worship in public. He was caught and executed by firing squad on this day in 1927. Just before he was shot, he cried, "¡Viva Cristo Rey!" - Long live Christ the King!
