John Paul II: A lasting memory

h2onews | April 03, 2009 - Four years have passed since John Paul II died and the faithful uninterruptedly continue to visit his tomb, located in the Vatican grottoes under St. Peters Basilica.

At 6 pm on April 2nd, the anniversary of John Paul IIs death, Pope Benedict XVI will celebrate a Mass with the youth of Rome in this Basilica. Many groups have drawn their spirituality and inspiration from John Paul II, uniting faithful of all ages and social conditions.

Approximately at this time last year, the so-called Positio the document that unites all preliminary inquiries on the deceased pontiff for the beatification pronouncement was delivered to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. These texts, which include the record of a miracle, were gathered by the Postulation for the Beatification Cause. The cause now awaits a response from the congregation itself
