March for Life 2016

Greetings cac anh chi from afar and near,

I'm very proud of everyone for making it all the way; especially, the young children.  They marched relentlessly in the cold and snow but I did not hear a word of complaint, just a question, "are we there yet?". 

Some of us attended a youth rally & concert Life Is Very Good with Adoration with Bishop Loverde of Diocese of Arlington on Thursday evening to prepare ourselves spiritually for the march.  Tan, Truc-Anh, and Chau Hoan had purchased tickets and made plans to attend the concert as well but in the end when we found out we could get tickets after all, they offered to stayed home to help host our out of town guests .  The next morning we got up before the crack of dawn to attend Mass at the National Shrine while some attended the Youth Rally & Mass at Verizon Center.  After lunch we met up at the march and marched together to the Supreme Court.  By then the snow has started to come down heavy and fast.  Near the Supreme Court, our community gathered in a circle and prayed the Divine Mercy, ending with chanting Xin Hay Nhan Lay.  It was a beautiful and holy moment for me; an image I will never forget. 

This year 44th March For Life brought a lot of challenges for us due to the snow storm but somehow God saw it through for us, praise be to God!

Thank you cac anh chi em from afar, for your prayers and for being with us in spirit.  I leave you with what Bishop Zubik's of Pittsburgh said in his homily yesterday that still stuck with me, it was his encouragement for us to make holy sacrifices...

"The way to do that is to connect the dots of life issues as prepositions connect the key words and phrases in a sentence... To connect the dots in 2016 takes on its own flavor, to make holy all of life, by connecting the dots to every single person, from the unborn to the born to the elderly, to those suffering from human trafficking, and those exploited by pornography,  and to the unemployed and the underemployed, looking not so much for a hand out as a lift up.  Connecting the dots to all persons is what God intended to see each other as God sees us all."

chị Anna Trần Mai Phương đã về với Chúa

Kính Thưa Cha Hùng và Anh Chị Em Trung Tây Quý Mến

NP xin anh chị em hiệp ý cầu nguyện cho linh hồn Anna Trần Mai Phương là phối ngẩu của anh Trần Sĩ thuộc nhóm Tỉnh Thức, Houston TX vừa mới được Chúa gọi về lúc 8:54 AM sáng hôm nay tại Houston .  Chị Anna Mai Phương và Anh Sĩ đều là thành viên của nhóm Tỉnh Thức .  Hôm qua, một số đông anh chị em trong lien nhóm Đồng Hành Houston đã vào thăm chị để cùng đồng hành với chị và anh Sĩ trong những giờ sau cùng trên cuộc lữ hành trần thế của chị.  Anh chị em đã giã biệt chị trong nước mắt.  Chị đã được sự chăm sóc vô cùng chu đáo và đầy yêu thương của anh Sĩ trong nhiều tháng qua .  Chị  đã được anh chị em trong lien nhóm ôm ấp trong tình thương và lời cầu nguyện lien lũy trong suốt mấy tháng qua khi chị mới bị chẩn đoán là bị ung thư tủy sống .  Những anh chị em đã gặp chị khi chị còn tại thế và trong thời gian chiến đấu với bệnh ung thư đều thấy chị luôn mang một tinh thần bình tâm, phó thác, và sẳn sàng bước qua ngưỡng cửa của sự chết để được về cùng Cha trên Thiên Quốc .

Sáng nay, chị đã ra đi trong an bình vào đúng ngày Đức Thánh Cha Francis sẽ mở cửa Năm Thánh của Lòng Xót Thương .

Xin anh chị em hiệp lời cầu nguyện cho linh hồn chị Anna Trần Mai Phương được Thiên Chúa của Lòng Xót Thương đón nhận chị vào Thiên Quốc như chị hằng mong ước khi còn tại thế .

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

Please join us in praying for the faithfully departed soul, Anna Mai Phuong Tran who just ended her pilgrimage on earth this morning at 8:54 AM.  She and her husband, anh Sĩ Trần are both active members of nhóm Tỉnh Thức in Houston TX.  Yesterday, many of us, members of the Dong Hanh Houston community went to visit her for being with her and anh Si during her final hours.  We bid farewell to her in tears.  She has bravely battled a serious cancer for several months.  While battling cancer, she was very at peace with accepting the worst that may happen and had been readied spiritually to come home to God.  She has been embraced with love and support not only from her faithful husband and her two daughters but also from all of us of the Dong Hanh Houston community.  This morning God finally set her free forever from all sufferings.  She came home to God on a very special day, the day our Pope will officially announce the beginning of the Jubilee for Mercy, December 8, 2015.

May our good Lord, the God of Mercy, embrace her in His endless mercy and welcome her into His Kingdom.

Chị Phương, anh Sỹ

Xin gia đình Đồng Hành cùng hiệp lời cầu nguyện cho chị Mai-Phương thuộc nhóm Tỉnh Thức Houston Texas.

Chị Mai Phương đang trong coma (từ thứ Bảy) trong bệnh viện vì bị chảy máu trong bao tử và chảy máu trong não.  Trong suốt năm qua chị Mai Phương phải chữa trị ung thư tủy (Multiple Myeloma). 

Xin gia anh chị em hiệp lời cầu nguyện cho chị Mai Phương đựợc mau tỉnh lại,  thoát khỏi giai đoạn nguy hiểm này cũng như cho anh Sỹ và các con của anh chị được nhiều sức khỏe, bình an và nghi lực để săn sóc chị Mai Phương.
