Lan:
Hello Anh Chị,
Thank you for sending me an email in English. Although I can understand more Vietnamese than I can speak, I still was not able to fully understand everything that I heard during the conference. Even so, I still feel that the conference was very worthwhile. I think that the witness to true life stories, the small table discussions, and the individual couples’ times, all tied together well making the conference flow nicely. The conference helped me to see more clearly what I value in my marriage and what I need to do to strengthen and deepen my commitment. In our daily lives, it is so easy to take for granted that which we have. I am now reminded to cherish those I love more closely, specifically my life partner.
What I treasure the most is the reminder of how important prayer is in our lives. We have three young children and I want them to grow up not just knowing but also truly FEELING the presence of God in their lives. We have always prayed together as a family in the evening before bed, but I always felt there was a struggle between saying prayers by rote and truly praying from the heart. In my own childhood, I grew up saying prayers by rote, saying but not really feeling. So for me, praying from the heart is something I would like for my family to experience every day. So prayer is what I treasure the most from the conference and it is also the most beautiful memory I take with me.
We are going to do our best to attend the conference being held in CA this fall – the one that will be in English – and I am looking forward to it.
I will remind Anh Huy to share with you his thoughts
Thank you for your prayers and I will keep you in mine.
Lan Huy
